this cache is part of the AWGS EXPLORER series. this is a large size cache that can hold coins and trackables, but the log is in a separate part of the container. handle with care, hope you enjoy.
Phillip Parker King was born in Norfolk island on 13th Dec 1791. In 1796 his family relocated to England . In 1802 he joined the royal navy academy. Then in 1807 he entered the Royal Navy, and by 1814 he had become a lieutenant. He lead 4 voyages during his time between the years 1817 and 1822. But it was the 1821-1822 voyage that he surveyed the Queensland coastline and mapped the first known map of Cairns. in 1839 he became part of the NSW legislative council.1955 he became rear admiral and then retired. he died in north Sydney on the 26th of February 1856.There is a orchid called "orchid dendrobium kingianum" and King Sound in the Kimberley rgion that has been named for him.
