I have been keeping notes on the caches I find. Of the 600+ caches that I have found this is what I have discovered:
18.7% of my finds are Tupperware containers
14.4% of my finds are Frisk containers
7.6% of my finds are Whiz Bang caches (pet bottle caps)
6.0% of my finds were hidden on utility boxes
5.1% of my finds were hidden on fences
4.2% of my finds were hidden on guard rails
3.8% of my finds were hidden on mailboxes
3.7% of my finds were lock 'n' lock containers
3.4% of my finds were hidden under or on park benches
What does this all mean? Is it indicative of trends? I don't know. Great caches come in all shapes and sizes and are hidden many different ways. Even the most common cache container or hiding place can be a great cache experience but are you getting tired of the same old, same old? What makes a great cache? Is it the container or the scenery at the GZ? Is it hidden at a historical or culturally interesting location? Or is it something else?
