Lake Cooby offers activities for all members of the family. There's plenty of good fishing spots and boat access (electric motors only) or perhaps you're into more strenuous water sports such as sailing or canoeing. But you don't have to be an angler or sailor to enjoy what Lake Cooby has to offer.
Lake Cooby is only a 35 kilometre drive from Toowoomba and easily accessible from the New England Highway. When travelling north from Toowoomba just look for the turn–off to your left at Highfields.
There are excellent shelters and free gas barbecue facilities for those who just want to spend a few lazy hours on a family picnic. A children's playground also caters for younger members of the family and toilet blocks have disabled access. Camping facilities are not available at Lake Cooby.
Lake Cooby, Loveday Cove and the Dam Wall picnic area are all open for recreational use.
Loveday Cove is the place for fishing and boating activities as well as group picnics. Sailing and canoeing can be safely enjoyed as only electric motors are permitted. The absence of outboard combustion motors also means the tranquility of the Lake is preserved for water birds and visitors using the excellent picnic facilities.
AND THE FTF GOLD GOES TO Bikerleo7. Congratulations!
