Applications Technology Satelite ground Station - Cooby Creek. Officially opened by The Honourable RWC Swartz MBE ED MP Minister for Civil Aviation and Member for Darling Downs on 22 October 1966. This station was constructed for the Commonwealth Department of Supply acting on behalf of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States of America.
