Geocache Description:

Hidden in plain view with lots of parking but watch for muggles and BYOP!

All of us who have lived here for a long time have memories of "The Ash"!   Referred to as the "Dean" of the town's entertainment centres is the Ashuanipi Social Club.  The Club was formed in 1960 as The Labrador Social Club.  In June of 1962, new and elaborate quarters were opened in the heart of the city's commercial area ant given its present name, after one of the major rivers in Western Labrador. The two level structure included a main ballroom, coctail lounge, tavern, banquet room, meeting rooms and games area.  Containing a seating capacity for 440 people, the Club was the focal point of the town's "night-life."  Today many of us still call it the Ash or Ashuanipi and the building is now used for recreation such as gymnastics, yoga etc.  The Building sure has a lot of history and that is why we wanted to place a cache nearby.
