Swing Bridge Flash Mob Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Iowa.Landmark: Greetings,

Archiving since the event is long over and everyone has had time to log his/her attendance. If not, the listing is not locked, which also goes if the CO wants to add some additional remarks. This also prevents it from appearing on pocket queries unnecessarily. and keeps it from continuing to appear on cacher's search lists. From the guidelines http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#event:
After an event has occurred, the listing is to be archived by the geocache owner.
Thank you,

Geocache Description:

Join the FLASHMOB at the BRIDGE Friday afternoon, the day before the IGO Hike N Seek 2014 caching event.

Ask a local where the BRIDGE is and he will likely direct you to the posted coordinates. When the Milwaukee Road laid tracks from Arnolds Park north to Spirit Lake, a swing bridge was built here in the 1880's to cross the narrow strait which empties West Okoboji into East Okoboji. The bridge rotated to allow lake steamships to pass between the two Okobojis. The railroad was abandoned in the 1980's, but the bridge was saved and converted to a fixed bike/pedestrian bridge in the 1990's as a vital link in the Okoboji Spine Trail.

The BRIDGE has become a popular place on warm summer days for fishermen and for watching boats passing single file between the lakes.
