Geocache Description:

Toyota-Anjo Cycling Road is a bike path of about 25km(16 miles) along the Meiji Irrigation Canal.
A lot of people are enjoying the cycling, the jog, and walking for holiday.
The Meiji Irrigation Canal was completed to supply for agriculture and industrial water to Nishi-Mikawa southwest in 1890.
Yoshiike Sluice Way completed in 1900 is water tunnel to pass Yashita river under the Meiji Canal through. It was necessary to build sluice way for passing the canal over lowland and for sewage treatment. It was said that the hardest construction period all over the Meiji Canal.

豊田安城サイクリングロードは明治用水に沿って約25km(16マイル)の自転車道です。
休日には多くの人がサイクリング、ジョギング、ウォーキングを楽しんでいます。
明治用水は西三河南西部に農業用、工業用の水を供給するために1890年に完成しました。
1900年に完成した葭池樋門は、明治用水よりも数メートル下を流れる家下川を通すために設けられた暗渠です。鴛鴨町葭池付近の低地を越えて用水を通すためには、悪水の排除と高さ数メートルの築堤が必要となり､明治用水の工事区間のなかでも最大の難所といわれました。
