Welcome to the "Licks", the original site of the town's cattle market, now (obviously) a car park. The market was moved to the other side of the bridge where until recently the building could still be seen and was used for the filming of Emmerdale being the Hotton cattle market. A second cattle market existed alongside (not literally) the two mentioned, and still operates out of the site on East Chevin Road.
