Hvalstadbroen var i sin tid Skandinavias største trebro og ble bygget for at den nye smalsporede Drammensbanen skulle kunne krysse Hvalstaddalen. Drammensbanen ble åpnet 7. Oktober 1872. Nærmeste stasjon er Hvalstad stasjon. Når banen ble bygget var Hvalstad stasjon den eneste stasjonen mellom Sandvika og Asker. I dag er det 5 stasjoner på den strekningen. Det viser hvor få mennesker som bodde I området. Broen ble revet i forbindelse med utvidelsen til normalspor i 1914-1915. Toget krysser i dag Hvalstaddalen på en fylling.
Om du reiser kollektivt så er Hvalstad og Vakås togstasjon like nærme. Hvalstad er den nærmeste busstasjonen.

The Hvalstad Bridge was in its time the largest wooden bridge in Scandinavia. It was built for the new narrow train track connecting Oslo and Drammen, which had to cross the Hvalstad Valley. The track was opened the 7th of October 1872. The nearest station is Hvalstad. When the train track was built, Hvalstad was the only station between Sandvika and Asker. Today it is five stations on the same stretch. That shows how few people that were living in the area. The bridge was torn down between 1914 and 1915 in connection to the expansion to double tracks. Today the train crosses the valley on a filling.
If you are traveling by train the nearest stations is Hvalstad or Vakås. If you are traveling with bus Hvalstad is the nearest station.
