Geocache Description:

Just a park and grab close to where the railroad crossed what is now I-64.

The Versailles and Midway Railway was built in 1885. The Louisville Southern Railway purchased the railroad in 1889 and extended it to Georgetown. A distillery in Midway was the primary source of revenue and when it closed in 1939, an application for abandonment was applied for and granted. By 1941, the line was gone except for a short segment that still exists in Versailles.

The terrain has changed so much due to construction that I'm not sure exactly where it crossed Leestown Road, but this may be the spot. Leestown Road can be busy, wouldn't recommend this one for small children or unleashed dogs.

Cache ia a pill bottle with log only.
