Geocache Description:


This cache is located in Brookdale Park, which is especially pretty in the spring when they have the Cherry Blossom Festival! I recommend that you park in one of the parking lots off of Circuit Drive in the park because there is very limited parking on Wildwood Ave, which is closer to the cache. However, it really is a short and pretty stroll through the park. This park is very popular, so be careful for Muggles! However, this particular part of the park is most frequented by walkers, joggers and people with pups. This cache is great for families, and you can bring your canine companion along as well. Enjoy the view of the park from this beautiful spot!

This is a geocache that I'm hiding for a project for my science class. My class's goal is to teach our fellow geocachers about environmental topics. The topic I am going to discuss is overpopulation. Overpopulation occurs if the number of people in a group goes beyond the carrying capacity of the region. Overpopulation can also occur because of the increase in births or an increase in immigration. It is estimated that we have over seven billion people in the world. If the population of the world increases in the future, there wouldn't be enough resources that could support everyone. Because of how women in China were giving births to many children, the Chinese government decided to make a one-child policy. One-child policy is when a couple could only have a child. The one-child policy was created in China because there was overpopulation in their country and they didn't have enough resources to support everyone. During the years of 2040 and 2050, the population of the world might reach up to 8 and 10.5 billion people. This demonstrates that the rapid increase in human population may not be able to support the present or a larger number of inhabitants. It also shows that overpopulation created many environmental problems because we all increased the atmospheric carbon dioxide, pollution and global warming. All of this shows how overpopulation is horrible for both the environment and other people in the future.
