Minnie B. Moon is buried here. She saw many moons in her lifetime, 100 years WOW!
Out of curiosity when we got home I googled Minnie Moon. Several things came up but I do not think any of them are for the Minnie buried here. This poem from a book "The Window with Minnie Moon" by A. Charles Obscura I thought was pretty neat to share with you.
Dear Minnie Moon
Ha' fell in love again!
Although forlorn ne'er twain shall see-
So very special friend: You broke my heart!
Whilst in my soul gave quite a start.
When spoke those words to me;
In filled mine eyes with e'er more beauty.
Forgive my leaving sight-
To love you thus I feel my duty.
An angel taken flight;
For sure returns whence 'ere she came.
If only once to hold your hand:
We'd stroll thru meadows, feel the breeze,
In pledge of 'Faith' on bended knees.
And whoever is this Omar dear-
I'll sure to look him up!
To wrench from secrets yet unclear, y'know,
However long I pursue!
If in this world we ever part-for fear I'm not the one.
Please always know how've won my heart!
Shall look to heaven every night;
Account for deeds have done;
Evermore from thence to think of you-
Like rising with the sun.
A flame in kindled mem'ry's flue;
Of winters closing in.
The warmth in touching lives eternal-
Now known That love is true.
May you all find that special love. Do special things together and hold each others hand.
