Geocache Description:

This cache is located outside the front gates of the newest cemetery in Lethbridge

There is NO need to go into the cemetery.

The cemetery officially opened in August 2013, when a member of the Pavan family was buried here. It covers 90 acres and has 2500 full burial and cremation plots. The front gate has a sculpture called "The Threshold", created by Tony Bloom from Canmore.

The name is based on the cemetery proximity (about 2 km north) to an old mining town that was called Royal View which was in existance around 1908 to 1920, the town had a population of about 400 but was pretty much completely gone a decade later. It was also known as Royal City and as Coal City. It sharted its name with the Royal View Mine also located in the area from 1923 to 1942.
