It was a shoreline here in old days. There was a shell mound place where old people threw away the shellfish which has been gathered that is here.
Because old reproduced house has a light with a sensor, we can observe the old house trace even at night. In addition, we can hear the guidance by the sound(in Japanese).
The sectional display of the shell mound is very interesting, too. 82 kinds of shellfishs which were excavated. But there are only 10 kinds of edible things. Because there are few bones of a fish and the beast, it is explained that it was processing factory of the shellfish here.

区立三田台公園に伊皿子貝塚跡があります。
伊皿子貝塚遺跡は、縄文時代から江戸時代に及ぶ遺構・遺物が重層的に発見された区内屈指の遺跡です。
昭和53年(1978)、NTTデータ三田ビルの建設の際明らかになり、約1年半にわたった発掘調査の結果、
・縄文時代後期の敷石住居跡1軒と貝塚
・弥生時代中期の方形周溝墓2基
・古墳時代後期の住居跡3軒
・奈良、平安時代の住居跡1軒
が検出され、これらに伴い多数の遺物が出土しました。その数は約1万2千点を数えます。
この公園には縄文時代の住居跡の復元模型や貝塚の断面が展示されています。
住居跡はセンサーで電気がつくので夜でも見学ができます。また、音声による案内を聞くことができます。なかの子供はエア相撲中です。
貝塚の断面も非常に興味深いです。出土した貝は82種類ですが、そのうち食用のものは10種類程度だそうです。魚や獣の骨も少ないため、貝の加工場だったのではないかと考えられているのだとか。
出土した土器などは港郷土資料館に展示されています。この公園にも貝層断面はありますが、資料館には横幅16mに及ぶ日本最大級の貝層断面があるそうです。合わせてこちらも見学されてはいかがでしょうか。
