It has been a while since I first looked at this cache. I can't find any recent responses about maintaining this cache so for the time being it will be archived and removed from the active cache listings. We are no longer leaving caches stay disabled for extended periods of time.

Groundspeak and the geocaching community appreciate your contributions to geocaching and I hope to see this cache back in operation soon. If you can get it back up and running in the next week or so contact me to get it relisted. Otherwise plan to move it slightly and set up a new cache page.

Geocache Description:

An easy hike to get the creative juices flowing!

This is our second Great Shroom Hunt cache and I thought it was a nice area. I also hope it might be a little inspirational. I have put a sketch pad and art supplies in the cache in the hopes of "caching" some art. While here how about sharing a little of you art with the world? A doodle, sketch, design, or whatever. No need to leave anything (feel free to, though), but your art. I will keep the box stocked with goodies for those who come to create, or simply view, but please leave the art supplies for the next budding artist. No requirements on actual ability here. I will sketch a piece to insure the bar is set low. Also, we would really like to encourage everyone's kids to participate. If you like, we will scan the drawings and give them to Geocaching to post.

To get here you'll want to use the same trailhead as the outdoor gear cache. It's at N38 54.754, W094 34.500. Just to the west of the cache are some good sunning rocks and some fine examples of native cacti (so watch your step!). Very common in southern Missouri, but not so much around here. I'm pretty sure that there are a prickley pear, but hey, I'm not a botanist.
