This series is based on my favorite book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R. R. Martin. It is a series of epic fantasy novels containing a myriad of characters, political intrigue, fantastic battles, magic, and, of course, dragons. The first book is entitled A Game of Thrones, which is also the name of the TV series on HBO that is based on these novels. This geocache series will highlight the characters from the series.
Sansa is a member of the Stark family, the guardians of the North. The Starks are the nobles who reign over the lesser houses of the north, and hold a high place of honor in the Seven Kingdoms. When Sansa's father, Eddard, is promoted to the high office of the King's Hand, Sansa is bethrothed to the king's son, Joffrey, the heir to the throne. Sansa immediately falls in love with Joffrey, and is eager to move to the capital with her father, to take her place in the king's court and be close to Joffrey. ,
Sansa is the eldest daughter of Eddard, and is beautiful and the perfect lady. She has been groomed from birth to be wed to a noble, and she has learned the art of presenting herself as a submissive and proper lady. When the kingdom is thrown into turmoil and her life is endangered, she maintains her grace and dignity and manages to survive by always saying the right thing and keeping herself from being seen not as a threat, but as a value to her enemies. Although she seems weak and naive at a glance, she has an inner strength that keeps her going in spite of her circumstances and preserves her life.
