During World War I, several types of communication were used. Pigeons, visual signals, radio and even phones.
At that time, radio technology was not as efficient as it is today, and the range was limited. Phones were the only way to communicate instantaneously for long distance. When an army advanced, a team of soldiers would bring the telephone line forward and set up communication posts in the trenches captured from the enemy. The main disadvantage of phones was the fragility of those cables, often severed in trenches.
To find this cache, you need to deal with a similar situation. A cable was severed, will you be able to fix it ?

Durant la première guerre mondiale, plusieurs types de communication étaient utilisés. Les pigeons, les signaux visuels, la radio ou encore l’ancêtre du téléphone que l’on connait.
La radio était très utilisée, mais la technologie n’était pas encore maitrisée : fragile et peu efficace dans les tranchées, avec une portée limitée. Le téléphone, quant à lui, permettait de communiquer les messages sur de longues distances. Quand l’armée avançait, une équipe spécialisée déposait du cable pour rallier le front aux postes de commandement. Le principal désavantage du téléphone était la fragilité des cables, qui étaient souvent sectionnés dans les tranchées, car non résistant aux piétinements des troupes, ou sujets aux tirs ennemis.

Tijdens WO1 werden verschillende communicatie methodes gebruikt. Duiven, visuele tekens, radio en de voorvader van onze huidige telefoon. Radio werd vaak gebruikt maar stond nog in de kinderschoenen. Gebruik in de loopgraven was eerder fragiel en had beperkte reikwijdte. Telefoon daarentegen kon grote afstanden overbruggen. Van zodra het leger vooruit ging, kwamen gespecialiseerde ploegen in actie om kabels te leggen van de frontlinie tot aan de commandoposten. Voornaamste nadeel van telefonie was de fragiliteit van de kabels, die vaak onderbroken werden in de loopgrachten door de soldaten die erop liepen of door vijandelijk vuur.
Deze cache brengt je in dit soort situatie terecht. Een kabel werd onderbroken. Kan je hem herstellen en zodoende de cache vinden?
