      The Pennsylvania state animal is the White-Tailed Deer. This deer was adopted as the state animal in 1959. It can run more than 40 mph, is a good swimmer and can jump over nine feet. It lives in deciduous forests, conifer forests, rainforests, grasslands, farmlands, marshes, and even deserts. It has a life span of about 9 to 12 years.
