Meščani Škofje Loke smo svoje mesto včasih imenovali mesto semaforjev.
Postavitvi prvega krožišča na Škofjeloški vpadnici v mesto je botrovala huda prometna nesreča avtobusa in tovornjaka. Hujših posledic v prometni nesreči ni bilo. Skupil jo je le semafor. Križišče je bilo do tedaj slabo prometno pretočno in je bil trn v peti vsem voznikom.
Po nesreči so postavili začasno krožišče, nad katerim so bili občani navdušeni. Nato pa so zgradili pravo urejeno krožišče premera 32m.
Dokončanje krožišča je pripomoglo k večjemu in hitrejšemu pretoku prometa na samem vhodu v center Škofje Loke.


The citizens of Skofja Loka used to name the city as the city of traffic lights.
Construction of the first roundabout on Skofja Loka access road to the town was provoked by a severe accident of the bus and the truck. There were no serious consequences in an accident. The only thing damaged was the traffic light. This intersection was heavily trafficked with low flow and it was a thorn in to all drivers.
After the accident, they set up a temporary roundabout. The citizens were enthusiastic about it. Then they built a real regulated roundabout with the diameter of 32m.
Completing the roundabout has contributed to greater and faster flow of traffic at the entrance to the center of Skofja Loka.
