This is where the old and new A1 roads met before the new bypass was completed and this being closed to motor vehicles. This is now a nice walk from or to Plessey Woods, there is access to
Stannington Vale here but very few cars drive along here. Some people do park cars here when going to Plessey Woods. As with all roads there is lots of traffic on the A1 so animals and children need to be watched if going to Plessey Woods.

I have now replaced the box with a micro could be a bit harder to find. Please replace exactly where you find it. You will need a pen for this one now..
