Geocache Description:

Located at the end of the southern quays of the River Liffey, and over-looking Dublin's docklands, the U2 Tower development was expected to become an iconic structure in global terms.

Sadly, the rupturing of the Celtic Tiger balloon put paid to the plans to build the 120m. high, 36 storeys building, with a U2 penthouse recording studio. Likewise the sister Watchtower skyscraper destined for the Point, across the river.

GZ is by the confluence of the River Dodder, the Grand Canal and the River Liffey. However, you will have a fine view of the Liffey and the various landmarks upriver, but views of the Dodder and Grand Canal are obscured by the site hoardings proclaiming the arrival of US real estate giants Kennedy-Wilson, a major purchaser of the heavily discounted sales of debt-impaired properties in Dublin.

The cache is a magnetic micro, placed low. Be very, very careful of the unprotected quay.
