CO update 9/29/14: After two DNFs I thought I'd better check on this one. It was gone, but had a replacement with me so it's good to be found. This cache has been Muggled four times and this is the second time I've had to replace it. Please take care when rehiding this and use the ample natural material to cover it, thanks.
While I was looking for a hiding place I came across a large section of blue stone with a most unusual texture on one face. I have no idea how it was formed, but it looks like a mass of writhing snakes got turned to stone. See the gallery for an image. If anyone has an idea or knows how this was formed, please post it in your log.
When I hid this I noticed a little scat on the ground; you may want to look before you reach.
Happy hunting!
Euclid Creek Park is another Gem in the Metro Parks emerald necklace. It features wooded hillsides where the rare rock chestnut oak grows. The reservation is located in Euclid, South Euclid and Richmond Heights. The southern portion of the reservation is the site of a "ghost town." The village of Bluestone flourished in the late 1800s and early 1900s when its populace quarried the blue-gray siltstone for use in building sidewalks and other construction such as the walls, bridges, and recently a box for a cache in this park.
