DuBioTech, the short name for "The Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park" is a free-zone development in Dubai launched in 2005 by Dubai Holding. It should attract companies working in “life science”. Completion was planned for 2010, the built up area should cover 2.8 million square meters.
Unfortunately the global crisis put a spoke in the wheel and only a small part of the buildings are finished and in use.
The headquarters, called “Bio-HQ” (awarded by the American Institute of Architects for Design and Sustainability), is one of the largely visible “Dubai's Ruins”, that should remind us of the megalomania that reigned Dubai before the 2008-crises hit hard and mercilessly.
ATTENTION: Put stealth mode (or better “inconspicuous mode”) on, because there is a watchman on an improvised watchtower close to GZ. There is no need to enter private property! Leave your car on the tarmac to stay low-key.

After my maintenance I was approached by a security from one of the close by buildings and asked what I was doing there. Prepare to have a story ready for him like "I was curious about the progress of the building...".
