This 9 stage multi-cache takes you to some of the historical features in Fort Ball Park.

Welcome to

Fort Ball Park is located in the historic district of Downtown Tiffin. Beautiful brick sidewalks take you along the scenic Sandusky River. A gazebo, benches, and numerous historical monuments and markers are in the area. In the winter, the city displays large holiday holiday decorates there are built locally.

This 9-stage multi-cache takes you to all of the major monuments and markers in the area. At each stage, you will collect the numbers needed to find the final.

STAGE 1
Fort Ball Park Sign

Welcome to Fort Ball Park. Your journey begins at the main sign which recognizes all of the organizations that made major contributions to the park.  The last two digits in the year Fort Ball Park was dedicated is CD.

STAGE 2
Veteran's Memorial Bridge Monument
N 41º 07.074, W 083º 10.634
This small monument is dedicated to all the brave men and women who served our country. The first number in the Disable American Veterans Post number is I.

STAGE 3
World War I Plaque
N 41º 07.065, W 083º 10.704
This small plaque lists all of the Seneca County citizens who died while serving in World War I. The third digit in the year the World War I plaque was dedicated is B.

STAGE 4
War of 1812 and Civil War Monument
N 41º 07.064, W 083º 10.709
The largest and most prominet monument in the area, this marker commemorates the soldiers who fought in in the War of 1812 and the Civil War. There are 12 locations listed around the middle portion of this monument. Count the total number of letters in each location. The number that occurs most often is FG.

STAGE 5
Historic Tree Plaque

This small plaque is located on a large tree that is surrounded by a tall iron fence. It marks the site of the old Fort Ball. The third digit in the year the plaque and tree gate were erected is A.

STAGE 6
Korean War Monument

This newer monument is dedicated to Seneca County Veterans who honorably served their country during the Korean War. The second digit in the number of soldiers listed as MIA and KIA on the stone is H.

STAGE 7
Indian Maid

One of the more well-known monuments in Tiffin, the Indian Maid keeps ceaseless watch over Fort Ball Park. The second digit in the year that the Indian Maid was presented to the city of Tiffin is J.

STAGE 8
Camp Ball, Ohio Historical Marker
N 41º 07.058, W 083º 10.673
This official historical marker gives a brief history of Camp Ball. On The bottom right hand corner, there is a 3 digit number with a dash. The last digit is E.

STAGE 9 - FINAL

Fort Ball Park can be loaded with muggles at times, especially during events. Stealth will be necessary when searching for the final. Bring a writing stick.

This cache is dedicated to the Chocolateers who have many great caches in the area and gave me a lot of assistance when I first started caching.
