Well folks, spring has finally sprung, we hope, and you know what that means? It's the time of year when we, as a geocaching community, can give back to our local communities for all of the great places it provides for all of the hiding places where we put out caches. This year the MOOG will be working in conjunction with the Missoula Parks and Recreation and performing our CITO event in the Missoula Open Space at the end of Tower Street and along the old railroad grade which runs down to the end of Short Street. We may also have the chance to assemble several picnic tables to put out there for the enjoyment of others. We will meet up at the posted coords which is a small parking lot at 0900 am and move out to varies locations to collect trash etc.
The Parks and Rec department has some garbage grabbers which we can use but if you have one of your own please bring it. They will also be providing trash bags. Good walking shoes or boots should be worn. You should also bring good work gloves. Depending on the weather a warm/rainproof jacket might come in handy. For those of you who are fair skinned, a hat also might be good to have.
Between now and then I will attempt to compile a list of the caches in and near this area as well as check on them so you who have not taken advantage of this area before can do so. As per our custom, we will adjourn from the clean-up to the Chinese Buffet Restaurant located in the Holiday Village (N 46* 51.144 W 114* 00.630) at approximately 12:30 pm to eat and fellowship. Even if you aren't able to make the cleanup we'd love you to come and join the festivities.
