The cache is located at the Kealia Pond National Refuge visitor center. The visitor center is open Monday (11 am to 3 pm). Tuesday - Friday (9 am to 3 pm). Closed on Federal holidays. Gates are locked at 4 pm. Say "aloha' to all the great volunteers that man the front desk.
Established in 1992, the refuge encompasses approximately 700 acres and is one of the few natural wetlands remaining in the Hawaiian Islands. This is a educational cache and hope you will learn about the wildlife here on Maui.
Small note on cache maintenance: I live on Maui approximately 6 months out of the year but, when we are not on island, Courtney Brown, the park ranger and her volunteers at the visitor center have volunteered to maintain the cache.
