FTFC #124 - As Big As Texas Letterbox Hybrid
Robin_1: Adios to this one. Checked on this one and I dare say the ammo box may not even be salvageable. I wonder if by the looks of GZ it might have been under water for a long time during the floods?

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Parking Coordinates are provided. Please do NOT park on ANY neighborhood streets. This Letterbox Cache is hidden in Mitchell Preserve in The Woodlands.
Please use the "West" Trail, though not well labeled once you get to the preserve.
This cache has been hidden to (hopefully) pacify my friend, Manofsteel73, who has been bugging me ever since I found FTFC 123 as to when I'd be hiding FTFC 124!
And NO, MOS73, the final is not hidden on your front porch!
I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could! Because I'm not a true "native Texan", I can at least claim to be "from" Texas, right? Regardless, I don't even remember living in the state that's round on both ends and high in the middle (Ohio)!!
Below are some hopefully interesting, funny, or stupid quotes about Texas!
“You can all go to hell; I will go to Texas” ― David Crockett
"Some folks look at me and see a certain swagger, which in Texas is called 'walking.' " -- George W. Bush
"I’ve traveled all over the world, but I don’t think there is any place better than Texas." -- Red Adair
"Football is to Texas what religion is to a priest." -- Tom Landry
"I thought I knew Texas pretty well, but I had no notion of it's size until I campaigned it" -- Former Governor Ann Richards
“Texas will again lift it's head and stand among the nations. It ought to do so, for no country upon the globe can compare with it in natural advantages.” -- Sam Houston
************
This Letterbox cache is straightforward and simple. Go to GZ access the cache and stamp and sign the log book!!
Make sense?
In other words; park at the recommended parking coordinates, navigate down the "west" trail to the final location, sign and stamp your log and claim your smiley!
Happy Hunting!
Please do not remove the stamp from the ammo/grenade can container!
When you get to the final GZ, you will find the large ammo can (labeled hand grenades) about 4 feet in the air, tethered (actually locked) in a tree. BEWARE, there are lots and lots of thorns in this area, AND THEY ARE TEXAS SIZED THORNS!
The walk to GZ was quite "sloggy" and the mosquitoes were already out, yes, even in late March! This area will get even more sloppy after a rain, and even the creeks could cause crossing problems if it has rained a lot (this is why the terrain rating is 4).
As per the attributes please be prepared to hike a lot to get this cache. Enjoy!
I truly hope you enjoy hunting this one as much as I did in hiding it!!!
