Geocache Description:

The sorquoy standing stone

An impressive solitary Standing Stone at over 4m high also know as the Papley stone. It can be seen very clearly from Grim Ness and surrounding area. How did they manage to erect such a large stone with primitive tools over 5,000 years ago. On my last visit I accessed the stone via the edge of the field I spoke briefly to the farmers wife and she did seem concerned about me being there.
