Geocache Description:




In January 2014, Bournemouth Council got in touch to explore the possibilities of adding Geocaching to a new activity park they were creating. After much communication, five geocaches were granted special permission to be placed on the seafront, and were ready to go live on the launch day.

The Coastal Activity Park was launched on 12th April 2014. It is based at Boscombe Pier and stretches for over a mile along the beach. Boasting a huge range of activities from gym trails to kayaking, the park will offer something for everyone, and feature events all year round.



All five geocaches can be found as stand-alone caches, however, you can enjoy a lovely walk along the seafront, starting at Boscombe Pier and finishing just after the Bistro Cafe in Southbourne. Stealth is required at all times, however the caches are placed in areas that should hopefully prevent them from being “muggled” too regularly, even during the peak season.

The Coastal Activity Park is all about bringing people to the area with a purpose and enjoying what is on offer. I hope that my small part of setting these caches will help achieve this goal.


Bournemouth Council would like it stressed that these Geocaches are approved by the Seafront team. At time of publish, the ban imposed by the council has temporarily been lifted to accommodate these five caches, and as a result, at this time, the council do not wish to engage with fellow cachers regarding the possibility of other caches on their land.
