Phoenix and the Serpent Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

LavaLizard: As there's been no cache to find for months and there does not appear to be any action to restore the cache, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note: Geocaches that are archived due to lack of maintenance/communication will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

My wife and I made the trip out to Borrego Springs to see the sculptures. Out of all of them, surprisingly this one did not have a cache and needed one badly. Surrounded by elephants, and horses, this Phoenix and serpant stands out above them all! I am 6ft tall and had to get on my tippy toes to place this where attentive "Muggles" would not easily see. You will need to use feel for this most likely. BYOP. This is our first cache and we hope you all enjoy.

Snakes have a forked tongue. When the tongue is flicked out into the air, receptors on the tongue pick up minuscule chemical particles, which are perceived as scent. When the tongue is retracted into its sheath, the tips of the tongue fit neatly into the Jacobson's organ, sending the chemical information that has been gathered through the organ and to the brain, where the information is quickly processed and analyzed so that the snake can act promptly on it
