On the other side of the canal bridge is Serenity Farm, a small horse breeding ranch. It is also the home of Rainier Therapeutic Riding, an organization which helps war veterans cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Disorder, and other Combat Injuries. It is believed that as many as 30% of our soldiers return home with these conditions, which can sadly lead to broken lives, even suicide.
Volunteers help these veterans learn to ride and to develop relationships with specially trained horses in a calm and non-threatening environment, giving them an opportunity to process the horrors of war and to heal their visible and invisible wounds.
Thank you to those who serve our country, and to those who serve our veterans.
Congratulations to BobBevLacie for the First to Find!!
