Little darling, it’s been a long, cold, lonely winter…
I placed this cache as we (hopefully) wind down another long cold winter in Saskatoon. It’s been one of the coldest (if not snowiest) in recent memory but having passed the vernal equinox hope springs eternal on the prairie.
This song starts off side two of the Beatles’ Abbey Road album and is one of George Harrison’s seminal contributions to their lexicon. He wrote it one afternoon in Eric Clapton’s garden after what seemed like an endless English winter. I wonder what the music would have been like if they’d been playing and writing in Canada.
Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces…
