It used to be said that they were slow. But it’s not the speed. It’s the pursuit. Continual. Plodding. Pressing. Unrelenting. The pursuit. It's brutal.
I remember the movies. People running full speed through the woods. Where are those open spaces under the canopy? Where are these swaths of woods without thorns ripping skin and spilling blood? Not around here.
It’s frustrating. Feeling like there is no way out. Knowing there is no way out.
I know I usually stay positive. I cling to hope. It's my rule. There's no place for losing focus. For losing hope. Not even for an hour. But at the moment... I just don't know.
Fate. Your fate. My fate. It seems inevitable now. Whether it is later or sooner matters. But it seems likely the end will still be the same.
Pessimistic? Maybe. And maybe there is no usefulness in being realistic. In being honest. Maybe it kills hope. Maybe. But we are all entitled to see days where we don’t see a way out. Oh, how many times I have heard there is no way out from others. Seems like from everyone. But, I know there is. There is one.
I left the truth about the only way out for you. If you can make it, I think you will agree. At least on a day like this. A day with so much loss. A day where you indulge in pessimism. A day where you lose hope. I think you will agree on a day like this that there is a way out… and unfortunately, that this is the only way.
