Geocache Description:

A beautiful short hike through Anderson Island's newest park with outstanding marine views.

Jacobs Point was purchased in 2011 with funds from Conservation Futures and the Washington State Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account, from the Young Life organization, who had long planned to build a youth camp there. Jacobs Point has 82 beautiful acres of beach, woods and wetlands.  There is a sea cave and a mossy chimney left from an old homestead.  Its mile long shoreline is a salmon nursery area.  The 1.4 mile (one way) out-and-back trail is essentially complete although some restoration is needed due to the rigors of construction of other improvements.  Picnic tables have been placed at various overlooks and viewpoints defined by split rail fencing.

The trail is well established, but a bit rough still and very muddy in places during wet weather. No need to go any closer to the edge of the bank over-looking the water than the split rail fence when searching for the cache. We didn't make this difficult to find, as we wanted finders to just come and enjoy this beautiful spot.
