Geocache Description:

This is the first in a series of 6, meant for the GeoAdventurer who enjoys the idea of being lost in the woods, in the deep forest, on steep terrain. It was designed for those that enjoy the challenge of filling out the grid, with both high difficulty and high terrain, maybe without having to solve a difficult puzzle.

Each of the hides in this series are on, or near steep terrain. The terrain rating is no joke. The terrain is probably a 5 for all of them if you try to take a direct route. You need to use your head, have a terrain map, get familiar with the area, and figure out the safest way to the location.

Each cache also requires a TOTT to reach the cache (except 1 which can be climbed). This raises the difficulty level, as well as the planning that you must do to get to the location. All hides are hangers, ranging from 15 to 30 feet high. All hides are possible to reach with local tools. I always carry duct tape to extend tools if necessary. I never needed or used ropes. Please make every effort to return the container to the same spot. All containers (except the climber) is a camoed preform hanger, with 2 wires, one for picking up, one for hanging.

OK, if I haven't scared you off yet, then let me tell you that each cache is also at a location where there is a grove, or clearing, or other attraction, that would make the hide spot a pleasant place to have a picnic.

When I started exploring for this series, my plan was start at
GC2AZB5 "Walk the Plank".

It is still my suggested route. You can get them all with one big clockwise loop, with an occasional rest at
GC1ZP7P "Nisene Hideout"

When I planted the Nisene Hideout, I thought the only way to access it was via "The White Lagoon". Since then I have found several other routes, some of which can be found by following these caches (not all of them!). Have fun! Wear plenty of clothes, and don't be afraid!
