Geocache Description:

We have decided to call this our Great Blue Heron Series.  When we decided to place these caches, the weather was freezing cold, there was lots of snow on the ground and lots of ice still in the ponds and creeks.   And yet we saw two Great Blue Herons fly over us.  They have a rookery quite near the caches, where they return year after year to re-build their nests.  Hopefully you will see some of these majestic birds while visiting the cashes.

This species usually breeds colonies, in trees close to lakes or other wetlands. Great Blue Herons build a bulky stick nest. Reproduction is negatively affected by human disturbance, particularly during the beginning of nesting. Repeated human intrusion into nesting areas often results in nest failure, with abandonment of eggs or chicks.

This is a family cache with lots of swag for kids!  Lock n lock with a nice prize for FTF family!
