Geocache Description:


In our years of geocaching, we have met many people who have become very close friends. The Pikers are two of those very special friends. They started caching in August of 2010 and have found caches in 31 states. They enjoy finding all types of caches with Where-I-Go’s, Virtuals, Earth Caches and gadget caches ranking among the best. We are placing this tribute along with the team of Holy Strollers, another pair of special friends we have made through geocaching. The following is their tribute to the Piker team:
THE PIKERS ARE GREAT THE PIKERS ARE GREAT THE PIKERS ARE GREAT
The piker team was among the first cachers we met. Like many others, we cut our geocaching teeth on their American Blvd and 4-Way Flasher series. To be brutally honest, 4-Way Flashers #6 & 7 felt less like cutting teeth and more like root canals. So when we met them on 12-12-12 at the first event we went to, we were delighted to learn that the ferocity of the hides was matched by the warmth of the couple behind the hides. Since that night we have enjoyed their company on a number of occasions and are pleased to call them friends. Now they have achieved 5,000 finds, an accomplishment that puts them among the top 100 cachers in the state of Minnesota. Congratulations on a job well done, though not completed. So many caches...so little time. Original contents of the cache include the usual child-friendly swag. But the gift-wrapped item is not swag. It is a gift to Bob and Herta that we hope will profit them as much in their faith as it has profited us in ours. Special thanks to butcherandswimmer (also among those who made us feel so welcome at those first events) for archiving their existing cache to make room for this one.
