Milldown is a lovely little nature reserve within the town boundary of Blandford Forum. An unexpected oasis bordered on one side by an industrial estate and the other by a main road with a school. I remember doing a series around here a few years ago which has now been archived and thought it would be a good place to set some more caches. I won a set of pots in a raffle a couple of months ago and Emma of the chilli monsters came up with the idea of doing a series and calling it the Elevenses Series – and here it is!
The reserve is chalk grassland and in summer expect a colourful display of flowers and lots of butterflies.
This is a favourite place for dog walkers and it can get quite busy, so stealth will be required at times.
There is a tarmac path running right around the nature reserve so it is ideal for buggies and wheelchairs, apart from #5 which I have set in a wooded area that can get muddy after rain. Wheelchair users will also need help retrieving the caches.
I hope you will enjoy this little mini series. All cache pots are small and big enough for swaps, travel bugs and coins. I would just ask that you trade fairly and please put the pots back in their exact location.
