Come Celebrate International Geocaching Day with a Geo Barbecue at Thacher State Park!
Saturday, August 16h is International Geocaching Day. To celebrate our great hobby we will be having a cook out in the Horseshoe 1 pavilion at Thacher Park from 2:00pm - 6:00pm. This year will be a little bit different than years past as we have some special activities planned! More on that to come but activities will begin at 2:00pm with BBQ at 4:30. This is a pot luck style barbecue so please plan on bringing a dish to share. Hamburgers and Hotdogs will be provided. Please note in your will attend log what you will be bringing so others can plan accordingly. I will update the listing periodically with the list of what everyone is bringing.
Thacher Park is a true gem and highlight of the capital region offering outstanding Panaromic views of Albany. Admission to the park is free and there is no charge associated with this event!
UPDATE: Special Events!
This year we will begin the event with some special geo-olypmic games! At 2:30pm we will begin 4 competitions - Nano Rolling, Ammo Can Toss, 3-Legged Race and Fishing for Duckies. Prizes will be awarded to competition winners and fun will be had by all!
