Stop at the obvious metal object and tie your shoe laces. You will feel a small flat magnetic item tucked up under the lip and out of sight. No log book. No pen.
Just pop this somewhere (on your shoe or hand or face) and take a photo and send to me to collect your smiley face - or send me an email and tell me what you found. Also please let me know if magnet is still ok.
This is a very popular spot for fishing, swimming and other waterside recreational activities. Bring your paddle board or canoe, a good book, or just sit and enjoy the tranquillity.
There is a playground at the other end of beach to let the kids loose on.
I spend a lot of time in a Dragonboat on this waterway and see the locals out playing in their kayaks, canoes and other craft. They even have little canoes which are equipped with their fishing gear. Fresh lunch!
In summer we see the families out under their lakeside pergola having a BBQ and they often offer us a wine or a cold beer as we paddle past with fast and furious symmetry.
In winter we can smell their dinners as we go past and we can pick which house is having roast lamb or lamb chops.
On the waterfront would be a peaceful place to live, but for those of us who are not lucky enough to live there we can still use it and enjoy it.
This is one of the waterfront locations where you can actually walk a good distance on a path right on the water’s edge – so do yourself (and your health) a favour and go for a stroll.
