This cache is along the Great Southern Rail Trail, a great recreational track for cyclists, horse riders, walkers and joggers alike. There is lots of great scenery to enjoy along the way, and you may even get a close encounter with some of the local wildlife. The day we hid this, a wedged tailed eagle was soaring overhead keeping an eye on proceedings.
At certain times of the year you may find that your wildlife encounters get just a bit too close for comfort. The local birds, especially the magpies, might think that you are a pig coming along trying to steal their eggs. I don’t think they have sling shot launchers, but they will more than likely fly through the air in your direction in an attempt to intimidate you. During these times it’s not uncommon to see walkers carrying sticks to wave around over their heads, and cyclists with antennae sticking up from their helmets. Why should we let a few angry birds stop us from enjoying the trail?
GZ is at a spot where we are quite red faced when riding toward Fish Creek, half way up a long hill, and roughly where we think we need a bit of a breather. Don't get this confused with the original "Red Faced" cache which is just down the hill.
As for the cache, you’ll need to BYO pen, but there is room for some small swaps. Congrats to KTCVic for FTF.
