This is Team AZSaluki's first hide. We spotted this area while riding our quads a few weeks ago. We are big Snoopy fans and when we saw this painting we thought this would be an interesting spot for a cache.
Getting to the cache site may be tough for the little ones so exercise caution.
The hardest part about this cache will be figuring out how to get to the hiding spot. A four wheel drive vehicle is recommended although some high clearance two wheel drives may be able to get here. We accessed the area by following the Buckhorn Creek trail just west of Castle Hot Springs. You will need to continue straight ahead through Castle Creek Wash when Buckhorn Creek Trail splits. You will know you are at the right spot as there is a gate you must pass through to remain in Castle Creek. Please make sure you close the gate behind you. From this gate your GPS should guide you right to the Snoopy. You can also access the area from Wickenburg by following the Wickenburg Mountains trail (see the book "Guide to Arizona Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails).
We have left a disposable camera in the cache. Please snap a photo of your team and let us know your picture number.
We know that this may be a long way out here for some of you so we decided to hide two others in the area to make it worth the trip. Make sure you also visit "Castle Creek Cache" and "Bradshaw's Grave" on your trip.
