So what can you do to feel good?
Well how about coming along to the Lee On The Solent CITO?
Where - Lee On The Solent Beach
When - Sunday 27 Apr 0900 - 1100
Why - Because it will make you feel good (and you'll earn a souvenir (tbc))
The problem here is not large piles of rubbish but the small bits of plastic and fishing paraphenalia that gets trapped in the stones and weed. Gosport Borough Council would be delighted with anything we can pick up to make the beach cleaner and more pleasant for visitors and locals alike. The council will provide some litter picker-uppers and black bags, and will even take it all away at the end. All we need to do is provide the people, the enthusiasm and an eye for trash.
We will meet at the published coordinates (Flower Buildings Car Park) to be ready to start at 0900. I have asked for free parking for us whilst we are cleaning the beach and this is currently under discussion within the council offices, if this doesn't come off then the parking fee is 80p for 2 hours.
As this is the official geocache.com CITO weekend we should also qualify for the souvenir but this won't be confirmed until after publication of this cache, so I'll update it when known.
Please come along and give something back to the community in the spirit that CITO's were developed for.
As an aside there is also a nice series of caches along the seafront that you can do on completion.
