A few years back there was a cache very close to this spot it has sense been archived. The town needed to run a new water line over to the fare side of town something to do with water pressure and the new building in the area. It was desided that running the line across country was more cost effective then going through town. So the plain was put in motion unfortunately the plained route would run right across the GZ of the old cache Ba Ba Black Creek. I felt kinda bad about this as I alway thought this was one place that deserved to have a cache. Over the last few years pal63 and myself along with a group of locals and some fellow geocachers have worked hard to keep the near by concervation area cleaned up. The local concervation authority has been a great help suppling dumpster bins and other things. The first time we got together to do this the place was a mess it seems some people had made it there personal dumping ground. That was almost 3 years ago while not as bad as it was then there are still people that use it for this purpose. Had we not taken this interest in the area the concervation authority have said they were going the gate it off to keep people out. This would of been a shame, as there is a free boat ramp, a nice fishing area and some trails that can be hiked on. Each year we hold a CITO event while not always based here we always have a group that come here to clean up. Things are getting better each year as more people become aware of what is happen. while the water line is done there is still some cosmetic stuff to be done to bring the area back to what it was. We did however get a new trail out of the deal which given time will be very nice. We placed the cache as close as we could to the originals location but we did change a few thing, size being the biggest change. We went smaller to help protect it from the muggles that use the area. You can find it about 5 feet off the ground while old one was a lot closer to the ground. You may not want to take the direct route to this cache as it is very muddy but if you look around you can find route that will avoid most of the mud but may present a bit of a hill climb.
