Geocache Description:

Can the radar melt the preform? Nope. And you won't get nuked either.

The cache is located next to Environment Canada's Woodlands weather radar station.

This station gathers weather radar data over all of southern Manitoba. If you arrive at the cache from the south you will experience the road climbing to an elevation of 896 feet above sea level. In comparison, Winnipeg is generally at 780 feet above sea level.

Here is a link to view the radar's current information: Woodlands weather radar

It is useful for making your own precipitation forecasts. You can use the blue and white "play" arrow at the bottom left below the picture to animate the radar and show the direction of movement of precipitation. The legend on the right side of the picture interprets the intensity of precipitation.

I find it handy to have a shortcut to this information saved on my mobile phone.
