This event is part of the eleventh World Wide Flash Mob.
Thousands of geocachers will come together at dozens of events around the globe, all gathering at exactly the same time.
Last years WWFM had 558 flash mob events, in 42 countries, with approx 25,125 attendees (there were well over 100 cachers at the last Harborough WWFM!)
The event will take place on Saturday 7th June from 18:00 - 18:15hrs in the square in Market Harborough
This event is only 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and hand in a log sheet DURING this time to claim the event.
The theme for this years event is 'Do the Conga!' so we will try and get a Conga line going around the square. To keep with a carnival feel, please feel free to wear bright clothes, silly hats or any sort of crazy outfit and blow whistles/shake maracas!
Please bring a piece of paper along with your caching name and number of people in your group on, this will act as the logbook and so I can get an accurate number of attendees, this will be put in the hat and a draw made for the 'FTF' prize
Why not make a day of it in the area and attend the 'Summer in Stoke' event as well!
Provisional Timetable -
Before 18:00 - Please try and remain inconspicuous - so as not to attract the attention of passing Muggles!
18:00 - When the church clock (hopefully) strikes 6pm, I will start the conga line (hopefully with appropriate music!) please gradually join in behind me (as if you were just minding your own business around the square and felt like joining in, rather than all rushing in as a group if possible!)
18:04 - If all goes to plan, the conga music will end and I will set off a party popper/confetti cannon to signal the end of the conga Then let's have a cheer to celebrate our silliness!
After that, please put the paper with your caching name and the number of people in your group, in the top hat provided
18:10 - All gather around for the official WWFM group photo, the FTF will then be drawn out of the hat and prize given for that and for the best/silliest costume, sweets will be provided for any children attending
18:15 - Please leave the square in a disorderly fashion - leaving passing Muggles wondering what the heck has been going on!!!
After the event - Unfortunately our usual post WWFM haunt (The Old Grammar School) is under renovation, but if anyone fancies a drink/chat afterwards I'm sure we can find a suitable local hostelry!
