One might ask what (or who) is being mitigated here ... so even though you can read all about it on the info sign on the other side of the park ...
Here's the short version!
Tippecanoe II Mitigation Area is a 182 acre preserve that is home to 2 family groups of the Florida scrub-jay. The mitigation area was acquired to offset the impact of the widening of Flamingo Blvd and to protect the Florida scrub-jay.
We also noticed a "Scrub Jay Crossing" further on down the Boulevard.
(Wonder if they are going to put in a traffic light for them?) ![](http://www.geocaching.com/images/icons/icon_smile_shock.gif)
Anyway ... About the cache. This one is just hanging around watching people use the path in this area.
It should be pretty easy to find but as usual, please be careful/respectful etc. BYOP and watch for muggles.
Congrats to hermit.girl and samsonite3 for the First to Find!
