For quick access, start from ASRA headquarters
This small section of trail is a bit close to Hwy 49 so you'll get traffic noise until you hike in a bit further. The trail will lead you to the creek that feeds Canyon Falls. There, you can cross a little wooden bridge and continue on deeper into the woods for about a mile (if coming from ASRA headquarters on Hwy 49) until it hits Stagecoach trail where you can either hike down to the American River Confluence or up to the corner of Russell Rd/Foresthill Ave. parking for Stagecoach trail.
If you want to make about a 3 mile loop you could start from the Russell Rd/Foresthill Ave. parking area. Walk down to Canyon Dr. It will lead you to gate #132. Continue on and then take a left onto Manzanita Trail and continue until you hit the stage Coach Trail. Take a left and head back up to the parking lot that you started from.
