Discover Pemberton - Gloucester Tree Traditional Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

Balayang: ### Cache Maintenance Visit Required please.###
This geocache has been brought to my attention as needing an Owner Maintenance visit, as the logs indicate that it is most likely missing, or else some other problem exists with the cache. See the GCHQ Health Score process.
It certainly needs to be checked by the Cache Owner.

The cache owner needs to:

  • Take action to restore the cache or address issues such as correcting the D/T rating, or the posted coordinates.
  • Re-enable the cache by posting an Enable log
  • Post an Owner Maintenance log to advise what has been done and to clear any Needs Maintenance attribute that is present.

Otherwise :
* Post a Note Log to request more time if necessary or provide other information.
**Do not use an Owner Maintenance log for this. That is for use only when you actually do something to repair the cache.

Alternatively:

  • Archive the cache and remove any remaining geo-litter from the site.

In the meantime, I've temporarily disabled the cache page to await owner action by Pemdisc and to take it off the playing board to prevent further inconvenience to our Geocaching Community.

Please see the maintenance section of the Geocache Hiding Guidelines.

I will check back in 30 days to see that action has been taken by the CO.
If nothing has happened, I will conclude that the cache has been abandoned, and, unfortunately, I will need to Archive this cache.
Caches archived because of lack of maintenance/abandonment will not be unarchived.

The Geocaching Community needs to have a degree of certainty that a cache is in good condition and waiting to be found, and the CO has a responsibility to maintain their caches.

Please see my profile page for additional information.
Thank you

Geocache Description:

The Gloucester Tree is the tallest Fire Lookout tree in the world that you are still able to climb.

The views from the top are beautiful with the view stretching over the neighbouring town, farmland and forest all the way to the Yeagarup Dunes in the distance.

(please read log as there is an update in the co-ordinates) - use R0gues coords

This cache is not near the tree as it can be a busy place during school and public holidays!

However if you decide to come into the National Park, after treasure hunting you may want to give the tree a go; at least some of the 153 pegs will do! We do hide our caches where they will cause minimal disruption to the public and the National Park – however they are often found within 3m from the pathway under a log or fallen tree…
