Milano: il linguaggio dei francobolli Mystery Cache

IL LINGUAGGIO DEI FRANCOBOLLI

Prima del 1840 il destinatario di una lettera pagava direttamente al postino le spese di spedizione e, poiché il costo era spesso elevato, la gente aveva iniziato a mettere dei piccoli segni e simboli sulla parte anteriore della missiva, codici che consentivano di trasmettere un messaggio al destinatario senza che questi dovesse pagare per l'accettazione della lettera.
Le perdite di incasso furono uno dei motivi per cui il governo britannico, per primo, decise di adottare il sistema di francobolli prepagati.
Tra la fine del XIX secolo e i primi anni del XX tornò di moda l'utilizzo di posizionare i francobolli sulle cartoline postali come una sorta di linguaggio segreto, per scambiarsi dei messaggi che non potevano essere intercettati da altri, ad esempio dal postino; tutto ciò perse il suo valore quando qualcuno, per evidenti scopi commerciali, cominciò a stampare cartoline illustrate che spiegavano i vari significati.

PALAZZO DELLE POSTE

Costruito tra il 1899 e il 1901 è l'ultimo dei palazzi di Luigi Broggi a completamento dell'ellisse di piazza Cordusio. La facciata monumentale in stile eclettico, riccamente decorata con stilemi cinquescenteschi romani, è in pietra di Finalmarina.
La pianta, condizionata dalla forma del lotto, si presenta come un trapezio irregolare con base concava verso la piazza e con il lato verso via Cordusio assai più lungo di quello su via Orefici.

Il cache è posizionato a breve distanza dal Palazzo delle Poste del Broggi; le coordinate del listing ovviamente non sono quelle corrette, ma indicano invece il palazzo di cui sopra. Per trovare le coordinate esatte del cache dovrete risolvere questa semplice mystery. La zona è frequentatissima di giorno, quindi massima cautela nella ricerca del cache!

STAMPS LANGUAGE

Before 1840 the recipient of a letter paid directly to the postman delivery costs, but since the cost was often high people had started to put small signs and symbols on the front of the letter that allowed to transmit a message to recipient without the latter had to pay for the acceptance of the letter.
Losses collection were one of the reasons why the British government as first decided to adopt the system of prepaid stamps.
Between the end of the nineteenth century and the early years of the twentieth the use of positioning the stamps on postcards as a sort of secret language came back to exchange messages that could not be intercepted by others, such as the postman; everything lost its value when someone, for obvious commercial purposes, began to print postcards explaining the various meanings.

POST OFFICE BUILDING

Built between 1899 and 1901 is the last of the palaces of Luigi Broggi and it completes the ellipse of Piazza Cordusio. The monumental façade in an eclectic style, richly decorated, is in Finalmarina stone.
The plant is influenced by the shape of the place, and it looks like an irregular trapezoid with concave base towards the square and with the side facing Cordusio much longer than that of via Orefici.

AND NOW THE MYSTERY...

The cache is located near Broggi's Post Office building; coordinates of the listing are obviously not the correct ones, but instead indicate the palace above. To find the exact coordinates of the cache you'll have to solve this simple mystery. The area is very crowded during the whole day, so please be very careful!
